Climbing Figure by Charles O'Neil
Charles O'Neil is a full time artist with a background in drawing and painting, but in the late 1990s, he became interested in sculpting. Working primarily in metal wire, his work is intricate and detailed. The Government of Canada has given Charles' sculptures as gifts for visiting international leaders. Large public works can be viewed at Pearson International Airport's Terminal 3, The Design Firm of Southfield Michigan, the Stuart Wietzman Collection of New York and Haliburton Sculpture Forest.
The climbing Figure gives a sense of mystery. It can be placed on the edge of any surface, with the Climbing Figure looking as though they are climbing to the top.The intricate details shine in this piece, with hours and hours of wire sculpting making it even more magical. From all angles, you can see something new and intriguing.
