Smoke Fire Vessel by Natalie Prevost
This one of a kind piece, made by Nathalie Prevost, has been smoke fired. Smoke firing is done in a metal garbage can or pit using sawdust, wood, salt, oxides, plants, flowers and manure. These natural materials are packed around the pot and create the interesting colours and designs. A full firing takes 10-12 hours. Finally the vessel is polished with paste wax. Because the pot is not glazed, it is not food or water safe. But it is very special to look at!
