Pottery - Handbuilding with Soft Slabs - Saturday, June 22, 10 am - 4 pm - PORT PERRY
This workshop will introduce you to basic hand-building techniques to make simple forms (bowls, cups, vases, plates) from soft slabs of clay. Starting with a rolling pin, you'll make a slab of clay and add texture before cutting out and assembling your piece. Templates will be used to make repeatable forms. Slump/hump molds will be used to give shape to a flat slab, which can be developed further with the addition of walls or foot rings. No previous clay experience is required. Pieces will be fired in META's kiln.
