Holiday Botanical Casting - Saturday, November 21; 10:30 am to 2:30 pm
Discover the art of botanical casting in this hands on holiday workshop with artist Rebecca Fortin. Using fresh plant material, clay, and plaster, you’ll learn how to create detailed relief impressions that capture the delicate textures of seasonal botanicals and winter greenery. Rebecca will guide you through each step — pressing botanicals into clay, preparing your mould, and pouring plaster to form your finished casts. You’ll leave the workshop with two unpainted 4 inch round casts, each embellished with seasonal ribbon.
Once your casts are fully dry, your ornaments can be painted later or left in their beautiful natural plaster finish — ready to hang on your tree or display at home. You might even have someone special in mind to gift your artwork to. It’s a cozy, creative way to celebrate the start of the holiday season. No experience required.

For interested participants, an optional plant‑based pigment making workshop to paint your botanical cast will be offered on December 5 (details and pricing will be discussed during the workshop).

Duration: half-day; 10:30 am to 2:30 pm (Note: there will be a break of approx. 1 hour in the middle of the workshop while your casts set up).
Course fee: $95 (+ $50 materials fee payable to the instructor) An additional materials list will be sent prior to class.

Updated Cancellation Policy: Cancellations received more than 3 days before the first class are eligible for a credit or refund, less a $25 cancellation fee. There is no refund or credit for cancellations less than 3 days prior to the start of class. There is no credit or refund once a session has begun.
