Intro to Encaustics - Sunday, October 27; 10 am to 4 pm
Encaustic is one of the oldest forms of painting, and dates back to ancient times in Greece. This form of painting uses a combination of beeswax and tree resin to create paints which are viscous and fluid when warm, and hardened when cooled.
In this introductory class you'll learn basic encaustic methods plus how to make use of additional tools and techniques for creating textures. Explore colour and application in as you create your own unique art piece. Note: some painting experience is recommended.
Instructor: Linda Virio
Duration: one day, 10 am to 4 pm. There will be a 1-hour break for lunch (lunch is not included)
