Basic Metalsmithing - Ring with Water Casting and Enamelling - NEW SESSION ADDED - choose your date
Water Casting is the art of melting metal to its molten form and then pouring it into water. This shocks the metal, creating spontaneous forms and unusual shapes.
In this 3.5 hour workshop, you will learn how to melt fine silver scrap, pour metal into water, and fabricate a sterling silver ring incorporating your favourite water casting using the process of fusing.
Once your ring is made, choose your favourite colour of enamel (powdered glass). Then you will learn how to add enamel to the inside of your water cast component and how to torch fire it.
If you're looking for a unique and fun thing to do, you'll want to try this hands-on jewelry-making workshop for a memorable experience and a stunning handmade takeaway.
