Annette is a self-taught, multi-media artist who works primarily with paper mache.
Initially drawn to simplicity of form and capturing quiet expressions of the female face, she has shifted to incorporate objects from nature as a means of reflecting her strong feelings for, and connection to, the natural world. This piece evokes an almost sombre, gentle feeling. The delicate shells placed throughout the hair tells a visual story, guiding the viewers eyes throughout the piece.
