Susan Rankin's Shard vessels are hot blown glass and made in her studio in Apsley, Ontario. They have a painterly approach to surface design that is accomplished by layering coloured glass to a solid bubble of hot glass. Once the design and colour she desires is accomplished, she shapes the vessel to accentuate the subtle details within the glass. Susan Rankin has shown extensively in Canada and internationally.
